And Would You Believe It – Even More Blue

Things have been moving on apace here chez nous. The next Mystery KAL test knit is underway and my stalwart test knitters are romping away. For those who missed the announcement, the summer KAL is going to be based on classic  book Heidi. It is going to be laceweight, triangular and have optional beads.

That means that the previous KAL, A Wrinkle in Time is finished and the pattern is now available for purchase on Ravelry.

It also means there are some cracking photos of some finished shawls I can show you.

One of my testers , Keith, tried something a bit different and as it was a 3/4 square shape, he worked the centre triangle in different skeins, from the two outer ones. This worked really well with the design, because the centre portion also has different stitch patterns.

So from the front it looks like this

And from the back it looks like this – cool!

And here is the same shawl, but in a different colourway

Meanwhile, I picked up another commission, this time it is a lace summer dress, for grown ups.

I sent in a somewhat rushed submission to a company and to my surprise they snapped it up. I left the yarn choice to them and surprise, surprise… It is blue!
Hubby and I went for a lovely walk around the reservoir and as we drove back around the coast the sea was the exact colour of my new yarn 🙂

For those who will no doubt ask, it is Sirdar Snuggly baby bamboo. It is DK and is 80% bamboo, 20% wool.. As for the rest, you will have to wait until it comes out to see the finished product.

One of the magazines I design for asked for a photo (headshot) a few weeks ago and as I had to get my passport renewed I took the opportunity to ask the photographer to do a few extra shots while I was there. I paid him extra of course and in my opinion it was worth every penny.

For those who are wondering, the shawl I am wearing is my test knit version of A Wrinkle in Time, on Luxe in Serengetti.  Holy Batman that is a big photo! Sorry about that, posting from my iPad so I can’t resize it 🙂

Time to go get some more of the dress knitted, they need it for a photo shoot by the beginning of next month!

A la prochaine.
