What was it I said about matchy matchy?

New Project, new nails. Well to be fair, I have my nails done once a month as a treat and Friday was the day. I finished the test knit for Wrinkle in time on Saturday, so it was more of a coincidence really.

I am going to be able to blog about this one though.

A little while back I had the idea to turn one of my shawl designs into a shrug. The design in question is Peter Pan. The shawl starts with a central medallion and then you work out from two opposite sides to create a rectangular stole.

The plan is to start with the central medallion as the back of the shrug and then work tapered, lace sleeves from each side, finishing with long ribbed cuffs and either a ribbed edging around the neck, or more likely the same saw toothed edging as the stole.

Add in a few shiny beads and you have the perfect little cover up to go over your little black dress or a summer wedding outfit.

The yarn I am testing with is Unique Sheep Tinsel Toes fingering weight and I am all set to cast on for the central medallion – hence the dpns.

The colourway is Caribbean and I am going to team it with some gold lustre beads for a bit of bling.

Oh and for the record the nails are Orly gel in Midnight, a very dark navy blue, with a top coat of Firestarter.

Because this one isn’t a secret, I will be able to show you some of the process that goes into the designing as well as actual progress photos!
